Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson will bring his Thick as a Brick tour to the Akron Civic Theatre on Nov. 4 in Akron, Ohio.
Anderson and his band (not Tull) will perform both 1972′s “Thick as a Brick” and the new “Thick as a Brick” 2 in their entirety. The original hasn’t been performed as a complete piece since Tull’s original tour for it 40 years ago.
The new TAAB 2 arrives in April.
If you hope to hear other Tull songs, stay away. Anderson has said in interviews the tour will feature those complete pieces only with no encore; it’ll be a two-hour, theatrical show.

Brad Paisley, the Band Perry and Scotty McCreery will play at Blossom Music Center near Cleveland on June 15. Tickets go on sale March 16, also at Ticketmaster. Prices range from $64.25 to $28.50 for lawn.
Collective Soul will play Cleveland’s House of Blues on June 26. Tickets go on sale Friday.
Crawford County Fair on Friday announced that Thompson Square and Eli Young Band will perform at the fairgrounds near Meadville on Aug. 21. Tickets are $30 and $25, plus the $5 general admission ticket for the fair. Tickets will go on sale March 19 at 10 a.m. at 1-800-585-3737 and online at www.crawfordcountyfairpa.com.
Just in at 5 p.m. today: Sting will perform with a five-piece band on June 12 at Artpark in Lewiston, N.Y. Tickets will go on sale March 16 at www.livenation.com and by phone at (800) 223-6000. Sting’s band will include Dominic Miller (guitar), David Sancious (keyboards), Vinnie Colauita (drums), Peter Tickell (electric fiddle), and Jo Lawry (vocals).
Also, Pittsburgh’s PNC Broadway Across America announced a strong 2012-13 season today.
Shows include current Broadway smash and multiple Tony winner “The Book of Mormon” (March 26-April 7, 2013) and “Priscilla, the Queen of the Desert” (March 5-10, 2013). The latter show is still on Broadway with Erie’s Nick Adams in a starring role. No word yet on who will be in the touring show.
The season also includes “War Horse” (Nov. 13-18); “Flashdance ” (Jan. 1-6); “Les Miserables (Jan. 15-27); “Sister Act” (Feb. 5-10); and “Anything Goes.” (April 16-21). All shows will be at Benedum Center, except “Anything Goes,” which will be at Heinz Hall.
The Pittsburgh series also includes four off-season specials: “Jersey Boys” (Sept. 4-23); “Mary Poppins (Oct. 16-21); “Stomp” (Oct. 30-Nov. 4) and Green Day’s “American Idiot” (Feb. 19-24).
The latter two will be at Heinz Hall; the first two at Benedum Center.
