The Monkees will embark on a short reunion trek this fall, but two area dates are scheduled.
Micky Dolenz, Peter Tork and, yes, Michael Nesmith will take part. Their show will also include the late Davy Jones through videos and sound bites.
Monkees will play Lakewood Civic Auditorium near Cleveland on Nov. 17 and the Center for the Arts at the University of Buffalo in Buffalo on Nov. 18. On-sale have yet to be announced.
Good tickets remain for Joe Walsh on Saturday at Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca, N.Y. Look for my interview with Walsh in Thursday’s Showcase. He said the Eagles will fly again in 2013 to celebrate their 40th anniversary. And he hinted James Gang may return at some point, too.
Nowhere to go tonight? Erie Ale House, 1033 State St., will feature live music by the 7:30 Club Band at — when else? — 7:30 p.m.
Florida rockers Cope will play at Crooked I on Aug. 18. Next week also brings a Neil Young tribute show to CI on Aug. 17 with Rick Sadlier, Eric Brewer and more. Ten Foot Polecats play Aug. 16.
Tickets are on sale (and going at a good clip) for Dead Prez on Sept. 13. Beedie, the LEC, Profound Produce and NatasK will also play Also coming: Texas (by way of North Pole, Ala.) metal band Turbid North on Aug. 21, the birthday of club owner Marty Schwab.
If you like to plan way ahead, Big Leg Emma will play at Crooked I on New Year’s Eve.
