Straight No Chaser returns; Wee Jams tonight

Acapella sensation Straight No Chaser will return to Erie for a Dec. 19 concert at the Warner Theatre.
The group, which performs at Chautauqua on Friday, will release a new CD in the fall and feature songs from that in its Erie concert, along with older favorites.
Tickets are $42.50 and $32.50 and go on sale Saturday at the Warner Theatre box office, by phone at 452-4857 and online at www.erieevents.com.

ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd both have new albums in 2012. Skynyrd’s “Last of a Dying Breed” arrived Tuesday, while ZZ Top’s “La Futura” will be released on Sept. 11. Expect to hear a few songs from both albums when the Southern-rock legends team up Sept. 9 at Jerry Uht Park.
Tickets are $58.50, on sale at the same places listed above. We have interviews planned for both bands for an upcoming spread in Showcase.

Reminder: William Dell and Wee Jams bring 50s and 60s pop and R&B favorites back to life tonight at 8 Great Tuesdays. The long-running Pittsburgh group features a horn section and multiple vocalists for maximum harmonizing. Broke Boland & the Dirty Pickles will open.
