Erie has snagged a major rock concert for February that will feature co-headliners. But that’s about all I can say for now. Look for news on Monday morning.
Hurry up and get tickets you hope to see Straight No Chaser on Dec. 19 at the Warner. They’re going fast. Ditto Mannheim Steamroller; it’s Saturday show at the Warner has just a handful of seats left.
Good to see some shows are doing well. That will help us land more concerts in 2013. The Erie Insurance Arena will have its grand opening in the fall, and it’d be cool to see three or four big names help break it in. I could go for some Green Day, myself, but that may be asking for too much.
As if the 12-12-12 benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy victim set for Madison Square Garden on Wednesday couldn’t get any better, it has: The Rolling Stones have joined the bill.
That means, on one night, a concert will feature live performances by the Stones, the Who, a prominent Beatle (Paul McCartney), and a prominent member of Pink Floyd (Roger Waters). That’s pretty incredible. Plus, Eric Clapton, Bon Jovi, Eddie Vedder, Dave Grohl, Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Chris Martin of Coldplay.
Maybe Jimmy Page and Robert Plant will get inspired and show up.
