Must be something in air: Crawford County Fair this morning disclosed its second concert for August, while CelebrateErie disclosed its lineup.
Sha Na Na, Bret Michaels and Lonestar will headline CelebrateErie 2013 in August, city of Erie officials announced Friday. Sha Na Na, which will perform on Aug. 16, started in 1969 as a rock revivalist act, mostly playing songs from the 1950s. The group plast performed in Erie in 2008 at Presque Isle Downs & Casino.
Michaels, the Aug. 17 headliner, is best known as the long-time lead singer of glam-metal band Poison, which racked up such hits as “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and “Talk Dirty to Me.” He also became a TV celebrity via “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels” and most recently appeared on the 2013 series, “Celebrity Apprentice.”
Michaels was the grand marshal for the Roar on the Shore bike parade in 2009.
Lonestar will perform on Aug. 18 as the event’s traditional country closer. The group, led by singer Richie McDonald, has racked up nine No. 1 country hits, including “Amazed,” “Smile” and “I’m Already There.”
CelebrateErie will kick off Aug. 15 with Taste of Erie in Perry Square and close with Zambelli fireworks following Lonestar’s performance on Aug. 18.
Tickets are $44.25 each for seats and $29.95 for grandstand tickets, plus the $5 general admission ticket to the fair. They will go on sale May 20 at 10 a.m. at (800) 585-3737 and online at www.crawfordcountyfair.com.

Their self-titled debut featured three other big country hits: “All Your Life” (No. 1), “You Lie” (No. 2), and “Postcard from Paris” (No. 6).
Niemann made his initial mark as a songwriter; Garth Brooks recorded three songs that Niemann co-wrote.l Then he broke through with No. 1 hit “Lover Lover.”
