http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMJUbZrNnA8Finally, we have an area date for Mumford & Sons, who have consistently skipped the tri-state area.
The English folk-rock superstars will play Pittsburgh’s First Niagara Pavilion on Aug. 29. But there is a catch. In an effort to make sure that fans, and not scalpers, wind up with tickets, a new system is in place. Basically, you must register your intent to buy tickets by July 3. THen, if you’re lucky enough, you’ll receive an e-mail invitation to buy tickets.
Invites will be sent out starting July 8.
Presumably, a lot more requests will be made than tickets available, so it’s going to be luck of the draw. I imagine everyone will get all their friends and relatives to send in requests. But if it’s ultimately fairer all tickets go to fans, and fewer to scalpers — that’s a good thing.
You can register at invitation.mumfordandsons.com.
I tried it at about 11:15 a.m., and it wasn’t yet operational. So you may have to give it time. You could always check out their clip for “Lover of the Light,” instead…
