New skating/gymnastics show in Jamestown; Chaffee starts tonight; NYC punk

The 2013 Progressive Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular will stop at Jamestown Savings Bank Arena on Dec. 14, arena officials announced Friday.
The 2012 event sold out the venue and was broadcast live on NBC. Same will hold true for this one; it’ll air on NBC in January. But it’s always more fun to catch it live.
Disney Channel stars and singers Bella Thorne and Coco Jones will both perform at the event, which will feature Olympic, world and national champions from both ice skating and gymnastics.
Kristi Yamaguchi and three-time U.S. figure skating champ Michael Weiss, along with former Olympic gymnastics champions Nadia Comaneci and Bart Conner will host the show.
Skating will be Elvis Stojko, a two-time Olympian; two-time U.S. champ Ashley Wagner, U.S. champ Ryan Bradley, Max Aaron, and the current United Kingdom Dancing on Ice winners Beth Tweddle and Daniel Whiston, among others.
Participating gymnastics performers include Olympic winner Nastia Liukin, U.S. champ and Olympic medalist Jonathan Horton, and U.S. champs Jake Dalton and John Orozco.
More performers will be announced later.
Bradley and a female skater to be named will also wear original Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz outfits in a number for the live show.
Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday at (716) 484-2624 and at www.jamestownarena.com.
