No lie, I’m ready for the show…to start now. But not everyone/thing is ready, so we wait.  Programs are being printed, passes are being handed out, tickets being sold…its the calm before the storm.  One thing you don’t want to pass up on is the pre-party at Sherlock’s.  Keep in mind…this is for the artists only. It starts at 3pm and goes until 5:30-45ish.  More details to come (hopefully at the end of the day today). But, the after-party at Sherlock’s is for everyone.  As far as I’m concerned, no one will have a problem partying because…come on..this is Erie.

Local music is what this show is all about, and what better way to have an awards show then to have Song of the Year performances from our nominees?  At the show, you will see the DTz, Matty B. & the Dirty Pickles, Diesel Houdini, and Lindsay Vendetti perform their songs for the audience.  One performance that some may not know about is the World of Music Scholarship winner, Alysa Balduf.  Some of you may have seen/heard her sing at Celebrate Erie this summer, and believe me, she can bring the house down.  Perhaps we have a future REMA winner on our hands?

Speaking of future winners, remember Matthew Yost?  He was World of Music’s “Be A Rock-star” contest winner last year.  He is still rockin’ out and is in the band “M4″.  You can see and hear them in the lobby leading up to showtime at the awards.  See a video and learn more about them here.

Don’t forget that the REMAs are not the only show this week There are countless local bands playing at venues everyday.  Make sure you check out a show and support the local scene.  Catch the weekly listing in the Thursday showcase or on www.rockerie.com every Thursday as well.

Today is our final weekly meeting with the committee before the show.  Hopefully, I can give everyone more information after the gathering.
