“I didn’t know the cameraman was going to get so close!” yells Tobi Lee, lead singer of Mustang Sally. “Thank God I wore underwear!”
The sassy, classy ladies of the country rock band Mustang Sally kept the crowd rocking at last night’s Roar on the Shore concert while Lee pulled bawdy zingers in between songs.
“They send a police officer over,” said Lee after referring to her joke of running through the streets of Erie naked, “but he’s like the size of Harry Potter.”
Despite a few technical difficulties, the show kept the audience entertained and singing along. Not five minutes into the act, Lee broke the heel on her white, knee-high boot, but made a nice recovery, “showing off the band” while she patched up her boot backstage.
Later when Lee experienced difficulties with her lavalier mic, violinist Sarah Wilfong took the main stage with high-powered fiddling.
Check out the photos in our gallery–I love Wilfong’s reaction to Lee’s broken boot.
Mustang Sally rounded out the show with classic cover songs, encouraging the crowds to sing along. See a clip of Erie singing classic Journey hit “Don’t Stop Believin’” and watch Lee playfully tease the policeman, “Mustang Sally.”
