Indians close to deal with Raburn

Several media outlets are reporting that the Cleveland Indians are close to a minor league deal with former Erie SeaWolves and Detroit Tigers infielder/outfielder Ryan Raburn.

The Indians plan to use Raburn as bench depth — he can play second, third and the corner outfield spots — if he makes the major league roster.

Raburn hit .171 with one home run and 12 RBIs in 66 games for the Tigers last season. Injuries and an early slump proved costly and resulted in a trip back to Triple-A. Raburn, who was released by Detroit in November, is a career .256 hitter in parts of seven seasons for the Tigers.
