Jered Weaver’s injury sounds worse than it could be

Any time an elite pitcher suffers an injury, it’s time to take note.

Yesterday’s news wasn’t fun for Jered Weaver owners.

Weaver has a broken elbow.

Yikes.

The good news it’s on his non-throwing arm, giving fantasy owners hope of a quick turnaround from the DL to elite pitcher.

Jeff Niemann (career 4.08 ERA), someone useful to fill out pitching staffs will miss the rest of the season for shoulder surgery.

Chris Archer should be next in line.

If you have an opening in a deep AL-only league, take a flier on him for now. His strong Triple-A numbers are promising.

Chris Narveson once showed some promise, but has been relegated to deep NL-only leagues.

If you own him, he’ll miss up to six weeks because of a finger injury. Not too big a deal.

If you are sitting on Corey Hart, he was moved to the 60-day DL. That would put his earliest return at the end of May. Still time to get a decent season out of him.
