9th inning: Edgar Duran homers off Nick Avila, but that’s it for Reading. Erie wins 10-1 to get the sweep.

8th inning: A quick 1-2-3 inning and Devon Travis is left on deck a double short of the cycle.

Guido Knudson with a 1-2-3 inning as the Fightin Phils have not looked good at the plate today.

7th inning: The SeaWolves tack on five more runs. Jamie Johnson, Jason Krizan, Devon Travis and Steven Moya hit four straight hits before a sacrifice fly brings in another run by Ramon Cabrera. Dean Green’s grounder is booted with two outs to extend the inning before Corey Jones rips a two-run double. Erie 10, Reading 0

Another 1-2-3 inning for Kyle Ryan.

6th inning: The SeaWolves string together five hits to score three runs. Jamie Johnson launched his second homer of the season before Jason Krizan singled and Devon Travis tripled. Travis needs a double for the cycle. Steven Moya and Ramon Cabrera singled after that as Erie now leads 5-0. Mike Nesseth came in relief to strike out the side and stop the bleeding.

A 1-2-3 inning and Kyle Ryan continues to deal. He’s allowed two hits through six.

5th inning: Dean Green with an infield single as he goes the other way to third base to beat the shift. The SeaWolves don’t take advantage but lead 2-0.

Sebastian Valley with a one-out single, but Erie converts a 4-6-3 DP. Dixon Machado with a great spinning move to take the throw from Marcus Lemon and get a throw off to first base before the runner took him out.

4th inning: Devon Travis launches a home run off Erie Insurance Arena and Erie leads 2-0 after four.

Cameron Perkins with Reading’s first hit of the game through the left side with two outs. Kyle Ryan then strikes out Anthony Phillips to end the inning.

3rd inning: A 1-2-3 inning for Severino Gonzalez. Erie 1, Reading 0

Another 1-2-3 inning for Kyle Ryan.

2nd inning: Steven Moya lifts a fly ball to left that carries enough to touch the wall for a home run. Severino Gonzalez gets the next three batters to end the inning.

Marcus Lemon with two fielding errors, but it doesn’t hurt the SeaWolves. He helped turn a 6-4-3 DP and threw out Sebastian Valle on a grounder to end the inning.

1st inning: Devon Travis with a two-out single to left, but he is picked off to end the inning.

Kyle Ryan with a dominant first inning, including two strikeouts.

Notes: The SeaWolves have won seven of their past eight games and have climbed within 8.5 games of first-place Akron. Erie is only 4.5 games back of Richmond for second place, the final playoff spot. … Warwick Saupold outdueled Jesse Biddle in a showdown of top pitchers in both rotations on Saturday. Saupold allowed two runs on four hits in seven innings to get his third win for Erie, while Biddle allowed two earned runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings and dropped to 3-5 on the season. Jose Valdez earned save No. 5 for the SeaWolves by recording the final four outs.
