fea_snapshot0815photo1Comfort food, here we come! Whether you make it yourself or head out to your fave Italian restaurant, today’s a day to mangia on spaghetti — as a nation, thanks to the ultimate holiday site.

Need some recipe ideas? Check out Jennie Geisler’s Loaves and Dishes blog right here. She made spelt pasta last year for all of us in the newsroom — it was incredibly delicious. It’s good for you, OK for non-gluten folks, and if she hadn’t told us it was spelt, we would have guessed it was real pasta. Here’s her story on it. It’s a Martha Stewart recipe — click on it here.

And if you are looking for some other days to dig into pasta this month, try these:
L’ASAGNA TASTING at Union Station on Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. — it benefits L’Arche. Admission $15.

Spaghetti Dinner on Jan. 20 at noon at Saint Andrew’s gym. Adults $8 and children $3.

Pam Parker is the editor of Lake Erie LifeStyleHer Times and House to Home at the Erie Times-News in Erie, Pa. She is the mom of three, stepmom to three and step-grandmom to one.
