If your family is like ours, break out the medicine bottles. We have been passing sneezing, coughing, chills, aches, pains and general malaise around for, I think, more than month. It’s the same thing at work. And it’s everywhere, according to an article in the Erie Times-News.
So have we found a cure here at Chez Parker? No, but a combo of antibiotics, Theraflu, codeine cough medicine, Vicks (on the chest and bottoms of feet — yes, feet, read Dr. Gott) and nasal spray are the remedies of choice around here. And lots of juice. And tea.
I read some interesting cures in AARP as well. Gargle with plain tap water — yes that poisonous fluid running out of the faucet that we regularly filter. I did it and I feel better. I don’t know why and I don’t care. I am better.
Saline nasal mist. A doc told me a long time ago that this was a cure-all and I never believed it, but for the past two weeks, I was up for anything. It works. And it is cheap. And doesn’t taste disgusting.
And rest. Somehow not making it through Jeopardy at night seems to be a good thing. Sorry, Alex.
