House lady — Fairview home revival and more

I love old houses and unique houses, and this week’s feature rolls it all into one fabulous European adventure. The minute you enter the home at 700 Dutch Road, you feel like you entered a ski chalet. I’ve been lucky enough to see this home twice in the last 10 years or so, and it is spectacular, summer or winter. Read the full story here.

The arts and crafts design of past centuries highlights every corner of the 7,295 square feet. And the vaulted ceilings, covered in clever wainscoting, are impressive. Outside, the property and pond offer idyllic surroundings with more than 4 acres. It’s priced at $984,000, and includes a guesthouse — cute as a button with the same view as the main house.

If you love to read about home decor, catch some of our other great stories on holiday tables, dinnerware and decorating. Ideas, ideas, ideas! We still have two more issues of House to Home coming your way with home tips to close out 2011 along with a lot of news on what Erie’s generous Realtors have been up to for 2011. Coming in the new year: great design articles — big city ideas you can find right here in Erie. And, of course this house lady will be hot on the trail of some neat homes for sale. Enjoy!

Fashion Friday Congratulations to Angie Tawney, our winner of the Giorgio Brutini boots giveaway.
