‘The Glass Castle’ Jeannette Walls speaks at Behrend

One of the most insightful and inspiring books I have ever read was “The Glass Castle,” by Jeannette Walls. It’s the true story of how Walls, an entertainment columnist for MSNBC.com, grew up in a family that basically wandered across the country in poverty, living in the family car and other odd spots. She will speak at Behrend Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. Details are here.

One of the most insightful books (about 300 pages) I have ever read, “The Glass Castle,” will make you laugh, cry and stand up and cheer. After “The Glass Castle,” published in 2005, attained incredible success,Walls left her highly successful MSNBC career in 2007. Her second book, “Half Broke Horses,” is the true story of her grandmother’s life in the early 1900s.
