It’s national proposal day

I just couldn’t pass this up. It’s National Proposal Day, March 20th, called to my attention by Tailored. Here are some of the fun facts:

First thing that crossed brides’ minds after a marriage proposal?
26 percent said, “WOW!. This ring is stunning”
23 percent said, “I can’t wait to tell everyone!”
14 percent said, “I am in shock … he took me by complete surprise!”
13 percent of women said, “It’s about time he asked me to marry him!”
9 percent said, “Shoot I wish I were wearing a different outfit or at least had thrown on some makeup!”
9 percent said, “I wish I had gotten a manicure! I can’t take a pic of a ring with these nails!”

Additional fun facts:

- 27 percent of brides-to-be were dating their significant other 3-5 years before getting engaged. 22 percent were dating 1-2 years before getting engaged.
-78 percent of women said their man proposed on bended knee while 22 percent said no knee.
- 45 percent said the fiance asked permission from both parents but 34 percent said he did NOT ask their dad or their mom, 13 percent said he asked their dad and did not tell their mom. About 8 percent asked only their mom and not their dad.
- 65 percent of women said that they didn’t see the proposal coming but they did know it was in the future plans.

- 65 percent of women polled said they are absolutely positive they are marrying their soulmate.
