In our May 6 issue of Her Times, we’ll be offering some terrific ideas for Mothers Day, Sunday, May 13. But here’s a head start.
The photo at left is from Priceless Prints — it’s a fingerprint memorialized in silver (you can also choose gold) from Prairie Creations. Company owner Deb Nester started making jewelry on the prairie in Nebraska and relocated to Iowa. She incorporates fingerprints of babies, adults and pets into charms, pins and earrings.
You start with a Priceless Prints kit that uses clay to press your prints. Here’s a link to instructions. The finished jewelry costs about $75. You can add crystals and other details at an additional cost. It takes four to six weeks for this gift, so you will be presenting Mom with a picture rather than the real thing. Neat idea that truly is one of a kind.
