McDowell project meetings Monday, Wednesday
Here are updates on the McDowell consolidation issue:
The school board has a link to a new report and second opinion from Stantec — a presentation that took place June 11. Here’s the link. There are now 11 different presentations on the Millcreek Township School District website. Here’s a link to all of them. Sean McCracken, in a Tuesday article in the Erie Times-News, notes the project, which includes the construction of a new Gus Anderson Field on the east side of Caughey Road, is estimated to cost between $98 million and $104 million.
McCracken called attention to the Facebook pages where people are commenting.
www.facebook.com/mcdowellproject has comments about plans to merge McDowell Senior High School and McDowell Intermediate High School. It includes a list of committee meetings. About 64 people liked the page.
www.facebook.com/no.mcdowell has more than 300 friends who do not want to tear down McDowell. The site calls attention to a group meeting of the No New McDowell team Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Township building. Here are the upcoming finance, operations and personnel meetings Monday — the board meets again June 28.
