I am opposed, opposed, opposed to this “new McDowell” as are all of my friends and acquaintenances. The economy is down, so we cannot afford the tax increase it will certainly generate. Do the proper maintenance on the existing McDowell and id will be good for many, many more years. The enrollment continues to decline so we don’t need a bigger school.

  2. David says:

Yeah, the plan for a new McDowell definitely doesn’t make sense. It’s such a waste of tax-payer money. The school they have is just so far from needing replacement. There must be money in this for someone somewhere – a contractor, or administrator, or something. Why else would they pursue such an absolutely ridiculous project? I would like a study looking into that, looking into any possible connections between those who would profit from a new school and those major figures approving/pushing for it.

  3. Lawrence Brown says:

Having attended tonight’s meeting and witnessing the utter disdain that the School Board showed to any and every taxpayer whose opinion did not match theirs, I hope for 2 things. First, that we vote out of office any director who votes to approve any of these proposed bids. Second, I then hope these new directors immediately fire Goldie from his position as Superintendent.
