Hurry, get some Freezerie’s homemade ice cream

Freezerie, 4393 West Ridge Road  – at the corner of Patio Drive and West 26th Street in Millcreek Township — has homemade ice cream. It’s delicious and the cute little building with beautiful landscaping with flowers and picnic tables is a welcome change to a corner where the vacant Clark gas station sat dormant for many years.

Inside, the ice cream parlor has about 10 homemade flavors and a half dozen others. I loved the homemade chocolate, but with names like cotton candy and purple haze — I have to try them. Purple Haze, the owner says, tastes like blueberry pop tarts. Mmm.

Located across the street from Art’s Grocery, Freezerie also has some combos with Art’s sweet rolls and ice cream and Art’s brownies and ice cream. Freezerie is brand new and will be open into October, but it may not stay open through the winter.
