houndstooth It’s back — houndstooth – check out the Glamour looks right here. I love it. Glamour magazine suggests a bunch of dos and don’ts for fall. Here are some of my faves:

White isn’t going anywhere after Labor Day. Glamour suggests a winter white piece — a coat or even layering whites.

Carlisle suit

This suit, at right, is from Carlisle. It  blends some black, white and real classic style. My buddy, Barb S., sent me the catalog.

Peplums are here to stay. Sweaters are sporting some peplum style. I’m glad because I waited too long to get what I wanted for summer.

Head to toe red is in — be bold.

Get something green. Emerald is huge, but if it isn’t your shade of green, it’s OK to go green in whatever shade works for you.

Don’t give up the animal prints — I’m glad to hear that because I have my eye on some leopard print shoes!

Leather accents are on everything including skirts and suits. This one is from Carlisle.

Hats from beanies to baseball caps are in. I admire everyone who can wear a beanie, but I won’t be with you on this one. The weather is cool today, and it’s perfect shopping time for fall.

NPR fashionThey’re back — prints, Bohemian style and more. Those of use who lived through the hippie days think some of the prints look a little familiar (and bizarre). Graphic, colorful and reminiscent of “Laugh In,” they all look like fun.

In an NPR report, BCBG’s Max and Lubov Azria appeared at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with “a nomadic, bohemian vibe.”

Read the full NPR story here. It indicates the clothes have a lot to do with gypsy inspirations. “It sounds a little crazy, but it’s also a little bit hippie …” Max Azria said in the story by Samantha Critchell.

Looks like beanies and hoods are hot too.

Here’s a story in Glamour on Richard Nicoll’s new orange and pink print dress with a tablecloth hem. I swear I had a very similar style — always loved the pink and orange blend.

At bottom is Anja Rubik fresh from a page of Vogue. Yes, she is wearing a diamond pattern mixed with stripes and flowers. Read the full story here. It’s all groovy.
