Another offer you can’t refuse. We played, Sorry, Scrabble, checkers and a host of video and computer games around here.

But, the people at Endless Games have endless suggestions for fun that range from under $10 to $25. The Godfather Trivia Game, for $13, will bring all the men in this family together with 900 questions. Do you know Kay’s maiden name? Who was drinking out of a garden hose at Anthony’s communion party? Finish the line, “I know it was you Fredo …” Endless Games says The Godfather Trivia Game will have you rising through the ranks, or sleeping with the fishes. Just remember… “keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.”

Endless Games also offers Name 5! Just like the title says, a category comes up and if you can name 5, you move on. You’ll name 5 things that make a person sneeze, 5 TV dads, 5 video games.
Other fun: Flippin’ Out – Scattegories on steroids. Say rock bands is the category – come up with a band that starts with the letter “P,” think fast. If you can’t come up with an answer, you are out.  So in this game, you are either flippin’ or out!

Enjoy Reverse Charades. Instead of one player acting out something for the team to guess, the team acts out for one teammate. You can watch a demo here.

Game on!

AMC has an offer you can’t refuse. And my family certainly didn’t refuse it.

It’s the 40th anniversary of The Godfather, a week AMC dedicates to Francis Ford Coppola’s trilogy. AMC started last night airing Godfather movies every night and the entire shebang runs March 2.

In our house, the menfolk have many of the Godfather films’ lines memorized. All of them — the men and the lines. My husband recites right along with Don Corleone, Johnny Fontane, Sonny, Michael, Tom Hagen, Luca Brasi, Clemenza and the others. So does my stepson, and my boys got into it too. Nothing like male bonding. “A man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man,” said Don Corleone. (Play Godfather theme here.)

I am not allowed to make fun of this recitation because it is sacred family tradition in many homes, I’m told. Read favorite quotes from the movie here. My favorite quote: “Leave the gun, take the cannoli.”

Oddly enough, I remember seeing this movie in a theater in 1972. Who knew I’d be celebrating its 40th anniversary with a chorus?

Something about mobs and men. We get the same reaction when “Goodfellas” airs around here. But it’s only 22 years old. The only quote I know from that one is, “They whacked him.” Must have refused an offer!
