Harry2potter1Where were you when you read your first Harry Potter book?

Today might bring back memories when J. K. Rowling talks about Harry Potter on Good Morning America. Watch it here.

For 15 years, people of all ages have been reading about the young wizard. One of my tennis buds was the first one to tell me about Potter. And then my daughter started reading the first book, and we bought the entire series … and read them that summer.

In honor of Harry Potter’s 15th birthday, Scholastic unveiled new covers — the website pointed out that Harry would be 33 by now! All seven books have been given new covers. Can’t say I’m a fan. I liked the old ones

From Scholastic: “There are more than 150 million Harry Potter books in print in the United States alone and the series still hits bestseller lists regularly. The seven Harry Potter books are published in over 200 territories in 74 languages and have sold more than 450 million copies worldwide.”

From Google Facts on Twitter: “J.K. Rowling was the 1st person to ever become a billionaire by writing books.”

John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John appeared on Good Morning America to promote a new holiday album, “This Christmas.” All proceeds from its sales will go to charity. See the interview from Good Morning America here.

Well, it’s not “Grease,” but it’s the same duo back together again.

In other pop news:
“Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?” Shakespeare and the rest of us won’t have to look too hard to find Romeo Beckham.

David and Victoria’s second oldest son, Romeo Beckham, 10,  will light up the runway for the 2013 Burberry campaign. He wears a trench coat, shirt, tie and appears to be wearing a suit and business shoes.Pam Parker is the editor of Lake Erie LifeStyleHer Times and House to Home at the Erie Times-News in Erie, Pa. In a segment this morning on ABC-News Good Morning America, a government report revealed that some vaccines may be stored improperly and therefore less effective — see it and read it here.

It quotes numerous docs and officials including those from the Center for Disease Control. The vaccines — even if stored improperly — are not harmful, but may not offer the substantial protection parents expect of immunizations. Doctors quoted in the report suggest that parents ask their doctors about storage of vaccines and expiration dates.
