These are a few of the women who shared their fun and fave holiday outfits with us in Her Times last Sunday. Read it all here. These ladies know how to sparkle! They add color and some special jewelry — often with family significance — to their outfits. If you need some ideas for holiday dressing, check out each woman’s special style by clicking right here on  “Our Favorite Things,” a story suggested by Christine Eddy.

Our July issue of Her Times will be in your Sunday Times-News, and it includes a salute to women — military women, Extraordinary Women and of course Woman of the Year Debbie DeAngelo on our cover. Fashion writer Lili Morton tells us all how to wear white and Debbie DeAngelo shows us how to wear it. Don’t miss it Sunday.

Purple with coral? Yellow with blue? Who wears that? Lovely Carolyn Eller from the Erie Art Museum models great selections from The Limited for a recent Her Times fashion shoot by Andy Colwell of the Erie Times-News. Check out how you can wear color blocked outfits in Sunday’s Her Times.

Thanks to Carolyn and fashion writers Lili Morton and Valerie Weaver who give us all the tips on how to wear bright colors this summer.

Check it out — the yellow and blue — wait till you see it — my faves!

In our most recent issue of Her Times, fashion writer Lili Morton gives us great news: We can all find dresses that flatter. I love dresses, and I am so glad they are back in style — for work and play. And they are colorful. If you watch any early morning news progam, you’ll see that the news anchors are all sporting dresses — stylish, colorful and very tasteful.

I think we have to thank Princess Kate, who could probably wear a bag and look good in it.

Four reasons I like dresses:

  1. I don’t have to match tops, bottoms and shoes. Just put it on, pair up some shoes, add jewelry and go.
  2. Dresses are finally available in lengths that flatter. Short is not my friend and neither is long. I need an in-betweener that makes me look taller, not shorter.
  3. Necklines add interest. It’s not just V’s, scoops and halters. I found a few that offer sweetheart necklines and left or right pleats that add interest to the top of the dress, and that’s where I need the interest.
  4. Dresses fit me better than pants or skirts. I rarely buy pants that don’t need hemmed. A dress that’s an inch too long is still wearable. Pants not a chance.
