Finally an excuse to eat something not salad or chicken to follow up the holiday-hubbub-of-have-a-bite-of-everything. Or 10 bites. I have been craving all things deli so much that I ate a reuben out of the vending machine last week at the Erie Times-News. It was remarkably good, and I know that’s corned beef — not pastrami. I’m getting real pastrami for Monday’s National Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day.  Pastrami is deli meat — and it’s beef — it’s what’s for dinner. This picture is from Recipes.com – follow the link for the recipe. It includes pastrami, corned beef, Swiss cheese and coleslaw.

And that’s not all. Wednesday is International Hot and Spicy Food Day. Good for us.

If you are reading this on Sunday, it’s L’Arche L’asagna tasting day at Brewerie in Erie, Pa. I made lasagna yesterday, but that’s not going to stop me from tasting lasagna from a dozen restaurants on Sunday. All proceeds benefit L’Arche, a community of faith where life is shared between people with and without intellectual disabilities.
