If someone you love is stuck due to a storm, scroll to the bottom of this blog for contact info copied from GoErie.com.

My son is stranded in Pittsburgh. It took him five hours to get there yesterday on his Erie to Virginia trek. Fortunately, he made it to a friend’s house before blinding blizzard fatigue set in.

My boss had numerous flights cancelled, but she did make it to Florida — just not her destination.

This all brings back memories of the storms from 1978 to 1980. My mother got her wish one year with all of us getting home for Christmas. And then we were stuck inside the house, a little house, with my sister, brother, me and all our spouses. And my sister’s kids. Mom said she loved us all, but she couldn’t wait for us to leave. I think she wanted my dad to buy a plow. Instead, he bought snow fence. And it never did any good, but my family installed it religiously for years — criss-crossing the front lawn with it at every imaginable angle. No matter where that snow fence was placed, the snow drifted into the driveway.  It did add color to a white wonderland.
