There’s an old saying that men sweat and women glow. In 90-degree heat, when I play two hours of tennis, I don’t glow. I sweat.

We all know sweating is the body cooling itself off. If you are female, you may mist, glow or sweat at certain times of the month — or if you are as old as I am. Well, here are sweating solutions and things to watch out for.

Low iron levels. Years ago when I was running like a fiend and playing tennis — and sweating — I had bouts of dizziness, fatigue and difficulty breathing. After my doc tested for everything, he found my iron levels were just shy of normal, and he put me on an iron supplement. It worked. Now, before you run out and take an iron supplement — check with your doc. Too much iron in your system is dangerous.

On “The Doctors,” they offer solutions to embarrassing sweating during workouts. OB/GYN Dr. Lisa Masterson also explains night sweats and how to treat them. She also suggests that endocrine disorders, thyroid problems, hormone and pituitary imbalances can be to blame. Alternative therapies from webmd.com include soy, black cohosh, dong quai root, ginseng, kava, red clover, or DHEA.

Certain foods and drinks, such as spices, liquor, wine and other triggers can cause your body to sweat and release odors. Other things that The Doctors recommend for severe uncontrolled sweating include: BotoxThe Vaser procedure, Accusculpt.

No matter what problem you have, don’t stress about it. That will only make you sweat. Go talk to a doc.

My stepson visited for Father’s Day, and he was covered in bug bites. So when I saw this little gizmo in my e-mail, I had to share. Whether your kids are little or adults, itchy bug bites can ruin a good time. Therapik is a pen-like gadget that you press on the bug bite. It heats up and relieves the itch and/or sting of everything from mosquitoes to bees.

On an episode of “The Doctors,” an expert stung one of the docs with a live bee and then applied the Therapik, which successfully relieved the pain and swelling. It counteracts the effects of 20,000 different species of insects and sea creatures — even jellyfish. You can watch it here or on the Therapik site. It retails for about $12.95, and some websites claim it relieves arthritis.

Eyelashes go way beyond the norm for special occasions this year. Marnie Mead Oberle found some great lashes when she took a spin in the local version of Dancing with the Stars at the Catholic Charities Ball. You can read her story in Her Times on Sunday.

Wait till you see her costume! Marnie went all out with bejeweled lashes and she looked gorgeous! You can too. Dozens of Internet sites offer lashes with rhinestones and other gems priced from $3 to $24. Marnie wore them for hours and said they were easy to apply and remove.
What’s the latest lash lengthener? Smartlash — a big hit on ABC-TV’s The Doctors. It promises to add length and thickness. It’s $29.95 if you order at Dermstore.com by May 7. It retails at $125 — and is marketed as an alternative to Latisse. Watch The Doctors review here.

And then there’s the Lady Gaga look with embellished eyebrows. Watch a fun video as a Stylelist reporter tries them out here. Then there are eye crystals, temporary tattoos and more that can add some fun glam and give you that eye yi yi look!
