carlosHappy Valentine’s Day!

It would be easier to tell you about stores that did NOT send me e-mails about shoe sales than to quote all of those who did. It’s safe to say local and web sales are on for everything — not just shoes. And for those of us who need to be heeled from a winter illness of so much snow and cold we can’t wear peep-toe shoes, it’s prescription time to try on new shoes. Many shoe vendors offer free shipping — some offer free shipping both ways, and I am hooked. I even bought my hubby shoes from Zappos last week.

These shoes at left are way too tall for me, but at $30 — down from $120 — they are awesome. If I were 10 years younger … These are from 6pm.com and the company starts its Presidents Day sale on everything — not just shoes — Monday, Feb. 17 with 65 percent off  Columbia, Patagonia, Puma and Nike, Born, Rockport, Muk Luks, Cole Haan, Frye, Nine West, Steve Madden and more.

missoniZappos stalks me all across the Internet. I have watched these Missoni shoes, at left, drop from $835 to $537 — if Zappos would just drop these into double digits, I would be sold.

Back by popular demand — the shoes I bought last year from Zappos — $50 on sale. Scroll down to see them — these are Ivankas.

Don’t miss Bon-Ton, Zulily. Macys, JCPenney, Kohls and all the local shops.

Latest new in fall fashions — the pastels and colorful beauty that brighten spring and summer will roll right through fall. Check out what’s hot right here.

Have a happy Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day — see you at the sales!

white hotIf you wait until Memorial Day weekend to break out the whites — it’s here. And white dresses are the best. I have two, but I would like to have a little more of a tan as one of my accessories. I’m working on that right now! These dresses are from Zappos.

You gotta love a name like White Haute Fashions. Click on that link for some great looks — white with plenty of colorful accessories to pop some style.

Have a spectacular Memorial Day weekend!

201302-orig-stomach-dresses-jcp-284x426Styling for the waistline? Love this one at left — it’s $40 from JC Penney, and it’s Liz Claiborne — gotta love this one. It’s one of eight styles Oprah features in her picks for waist whittling styles — see the rest of them here.

Cosmo UK has the top 12 fashion must-have items right here – beanies  are still rocking runways. Other cool trends include round sunglasses and neon sneaks — I am way ahead of the fashion curve on this one. I’ve had bright neon kicks for years — pink, green – right now — mine are purple. Take a look at these cool shoes on Zappos.

And the jeans that supposedly eliminate cellulite from our friends at Wrangler were chatted up and blogged in January by nearly everyone. Here’s a link to purchase them on asos.com. But this is the European version of asos — it’s the only place I could find the jeans. They are not available on the US version. Nor are they mentioned on the US Wrangler site.

Mod cloth author dress1Dresses, dresses, dresses. I am loving the dresses. This one from ModCloth.com speaks to me because it is called Author Outings Dress. It has a vintage feel — here’s the ModCloth.com description: “goldenrod-yellow fit-and-flare frock! Its retro hue, lightly textured stretch fabric, and see-through, crocheted details make this dress as intriguing as your latest work. You know it’s not fair to judge a book by its cover … ”

I had a dress that color many moons ago, and I also had that collar on another dress. It’s all back!

It is $79 and it is one of a million dresses I love. I am also coveting many frocks from Ruelala.  The site has numerous BCBGMAXAZRIA designs. Click here to see a few. I have friends who told me about these sites. Thanks friends.

Just a heads up — you do have to join to see all the stuff, but it costs nothing — just your e-mail address. So far they have not been stalking me like Zappos does (I get reminders that they miss me on nearly every web page I open — it’s a little creepy!), but I am a huge Zappos fan.

Jamie is the name of this cute little sneaker. It's on sale for $53.99. Find them online right here. Lots of color combos too.

When I was young, the brand name was associated with more sensible and comfortable footwear, but look where that has gone! I bought a pair of Dr. Scholl’s shoes a few years ago that were very stylish, and I will be buying more.  Take a look at some cute and comfy styles.

The Wakeup is a lace-up suede heel, $80.

The Tatum -- what a boot. Faux shearling, $60.

All the shoes are available at Piperlime.comMacys.comZappos.com and DrSchollsShoes.com.

Thanks to Marnie Mead for pointing out a blog at smartmom.com on her Facebook page. The link tells us five things we should never wear and clear from the closet. Fast.  I don’t know about you, but I have those clogs pictured at left and a dress that looks a lot like that printed frock.  Blogger Nicole Hempeck offers great tips including a fun site called J’s Everyday Fashion — that puts together outfits I would wear — with stuff from places I would shop: New York & Company,  Limited, ZapposStella & Dot, GapCharlotte RusseLord & TaylorJ.Crew and others.

And some of it is actually priced in single digits. Thanks to Marnie Mead and Nicole Hempeck for fashion advice.
