Cold brew: No, not that kind
I’ve fallen in love with iced coffee. I know it’s a little late to jump on this bandwagon, but it never sounded very good. Then one day, I was hot. I was tired of water and pop and found myself at Starbucks. An obsession was born.
Iced coffee comes with a few drawbacks: If you want to use it as a low-cal (even healthy from nonfat milk) treat, avoid the cream and sugary flavors.
Better yet, make your own. No, you do not need to shell out $12 for a packet of iced coffee pouches from Starbucks. You can make it however you like it with plain old Folgers (or ground Starbucks, for that matter).
This inspiring method hit my e-mail today, and as a true test of a good recipe, I want to run home and make it tonight. Problem is, it takes all night. But what a treat to wake up to. It could even qualify as, uh, the best part of waking up … Sorry.
