Refilling Swiffer WetJet Bottle

I have the Swiffer WetJet floor cleaner that sprays out a jet of cleaner from an attached bottle.  I have the hardwood floor product but according to Waterlox we are suppose to clean our floor with only vinegar and water or their product.  Well, of course I’ll use vinegar and water because their product costs too much (plus shipping because who sells it in our area?)  I love the WetJet, though, and want to just put the vinegar and water into the bottle and dump the hardwood cleaner that is in there.  I tried and tried with pliers and channel locks and couldn’t get that cap off.  Of course it would be hard or we’d all be making our own solutions to refill them.  But I found a website that tells you how to get that lid off to refill it.  I’m going to give it a try.  If you want to try it here is the website: Normally I don’t like the ehow website for their advice but perhaps this will work.  Try it for yourself or check back and I’ll let you know if their instructions work for me. It certainly sounds simple enough.  I just found this site with photos, and here is a YouTube video about it.

I got some re-usable lids on ebay that work great.

I just took a look at ebay and at the moment I don’t see any lids but I’ll keep checking back. I’m sure you’d only be able to reuse the original lids only so many times.
