Bathroom and Kitchen Cleaning

Lysol Disinfectant Wipes

I resisted buying those Lysol Disinfectant Wipes for quite a while. I’d see them advertised (or similar brands) on the TV show Clean House. I thought it was really a waste of money. But one day I bought some just to see and I love them. Just grab one and clean the stovetop and throw it out. If something is really greasy on glass or a shiny surface I’ll wipe it with that and follow with a paper towel but most of the times I don’t need to. I find myself cleaning things a lot more often and using less paper towels so I figure the cost isn’t much more than using the sprays and paper towels.

Bathtub:

I found the Oxy-type products work really well.  One thing to note.  I sprayed it in the bathtub and let it sit but forgot about it.  When using the shower the next day, stepping in after it got wet again was like stepping on ice.  Just don’t forget to rinse it after about 10 minutes (before it dries.)  One of those “don’t do like me” advice tidbits.
*I found that the Arm and Hammer Oxy works the best of the ones I tried so far.

Bon Ami

I break out in a rash when I use Comet.  I love Comet but the bleach wrecks my hands.  Even if I wear gloves it somehow dribbles down inside.  I use Bon Ami on the sinks to get the chrome clean and shiny.  It doesn’t work as good as Comet because it doesn’t bleach or sanitize.

The Dyson Animal Vacuum Cleaner

Expensive but works great for the cat hair.  We have 2 cats and when they are shedding the cat hair is terrible.  I’m really happy with the vacuum.  I have a Kirby, also.  I love my Kirby but it is heavy so I use  the Dyson more often.

Ammonia

Ammonia is great for bathroom cleaning especially if anyone uses hair spray in the bathroom.  Don’t use on shellac woodwork and never mix with anything that has chlorine in it as it will produce a poisonous gas when mixed with chlorine.
