The newest fitness craze meets nonprofit fundraising. Hundreds of Erie residents are expected to attend a “zumbathon” in support of ALS research.
Best Fitness, located at 2147 W. 12th St., is hosting the United We Dance to Cure ALS Zumbathon on March 31.
Proceeds will go to MDA’s Augie’s Quest, a non-profit research initiative dedicated to finding treatments and cures for ALS.
The event will kick off at 8 a.m. with an open house and breakfast. Then, participants will hit the dance floor from 9 a.m. to noon.
Throughout the zumbathon, families affected by ALS will share their stories to raise awareness for the cause.
The fundraiser is open to the public, and there will be free refreshments.
So raise some money, put on your dancing shoes and head to Best Fitness to move that body for ALS. It’ll add some spice–and altruism–to your normal workout routine.
