best-labyrinthLake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park, known as L.E.A.F., needs help from the community to help maintain the park and to organize and present the park’s public events.

Volunteers are needed for educational events, including developing and presenting programs for students and adults; performing tree maintenance, such as minor tree pruning and mulching; conducting the twice-a-year park cleanups in the spring and fall; helping with newsletter layout and mailing; fundraising; public relations; and helping to organize and staff special events, including the annual L.E.A.F. festival held the second Saturday in September, the Arbor Day celebration on the last Friday in April, and the Arts at the Arboretum series, which takes place on six Thursdays in July and August.

To volunteer your talents, or for more information, send an e-mail to LEAF@velocity.net. Find out more about L.E.A.F. by visiting www.leaferie.org.
