Owen to officially announce for state House seat

On this Leap Year day, Republican Jason Owen is making it official with an announcement at noon.

The Millcreek resident is running for state House in the 3rd Legislative District, the seat now held by state Rep. John Hornaman, D-Millcreek, who announced he wouldn’t seek a fourth term.

Owen’s news release announcing his press conference is headlined: “Leap into new leadership on Leap Day!”

Owen, a lawyer, is also a member of the Republican State Committee and the Millcreek Township Government Study Commission.

Owens is running against Regina Smith in the GOP primary on April 24. Democrat Ryan Bizzarro is unopposed on the Democratic side.
