There are conflicting reports about whom presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney will choose as his running mate.
The Associated Press reported that the Romney campaign is “thoroughly vetting” Florida Sen. Marco Rubio despite reports that he is not being considered.
Rubio is a rising star in Republican politics who might help Romney win one of the key battleground states. It also might help win over some of the GOP base and Hispanic voters.
Another top contender for the VP slot is Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, who could help deliver another key battleground state.
Stay tuned.
Romney might make the announcement before the GOP nominating convention in late August.
