How to fill out your nomination petitions

On a post on the Republican Party’s web site, Salmon suggests locations for gathering signatures including government and school board meetings, regional GOP committee meetings in a candiate’s part of the county, fire company meetings and events, American Legion and V.F.W. posts and more.

But he adds, “The best bet is always door to door because voters want to vote for someone they have seen and talked with.” Another idea: Host your own petition signing event.

Candidates also can attend a meet-and-greet with Gov. Tom Corbett when he visits Erie on March 1, Salmon wrote. It’s another chance to get signatures, he said.

He has one caution: “Lenten events may or may not be a chance for informal signature gathering. Be discreet.”
