Schwartz leads Dem field for governor

In case you missed it, the latest poll from Quinnipiac University spells more bad news for Gov. Tom Corbett.

Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz, of Philadelphia, tops a Democratic field and leads Corbett, 45 to 35 percent, the poll conducted May 30-June 4 showed.

State Treasurer Rob McCord, another Democrat, also leads Corbett, 43-35 percent, in another potential matchup in the 2014 general election.

But for now,  Schwartz leads the  Democratic primary field with 18 percent, with no one else registering above 4 percent. But 63 percent are still undecided.

John Hanger, former state Department of Environmental Protection secretary, has 1 percent, as do several other  Democrats. Hanger is in Erie today from noon to 2 p.m. at Brewerie, 123 W. 14th St.
