John Guerriero and Kevin Flowers have joined forces for Campaign ’14, a blog about the 2014 races for governor and U.S. House, among others. And you'll read about President Barack Obama, Congress and what's going on in Harrisburg. Check it out and you’ll be a lot more informed before voting in the May 21 primary and the Nov. 5 election.   Read more about this blog.

I uncovered this fun fact while researching the Pennsylvania roots of the GOP presidential candidates.

Texas Congressman Ron Paul was the Pennsylvania state champion in the 220-yard dash as a high school junior at Dormont High, near Pittsburgh.

So running for political office must come naturally for Paul.

Erie native Steve Scully, C-SPAN’s senior executive producer and political editor, will return to the Erie area to talk about the GOP primaries and caucuses, as well as the fall election.

Scully will speak at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania on April 12 at 6:30 p.m., Room 107A, Compton Hall.

The talk, “Road to the White House: Stories and Lessons from the Campaign Trail,” is free and open to the public.

Scully knows his stuff. He’s responsible for coordinating all aspects of C-SPAN’s campaign programming.

The talk will be shortly before Pennsylvania’s April 24 primary.
