It doesn’t appear that Pennsylvania voters are as enthusiastic about this year’s presidential election, at least when compared to the 2008 race.

So far this year, there are 500,000 fewer registered state voters than four years ago, the Associated Press reported. And Democrats now outnumber Republicans by less than 1.1 million voters, compared to the 1.2 million-voter advantage in 2008, according to AP.

But the AP story had another interesting trend: Democrats are doing a better job at registering new voters, while the GOP is getting more people to switch parties.

You still have plenty of time to make your vote count.

Oct. 9 is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election that will pit President Barack Obama against Mitt Romney.
