Nine-year-old Shane Uber, of Union City, sends a message to his brother, Jacob, 12, with his Nintendo DS PictoChat. PictoChat is a communication application that is pre-installed in every Nintendo DS. "It's easier than talking cause you don't have to wait. You can just send it whenever you want," said Shane. His sister, Matti Uber, is a Union City Area High School senior basketball player and the homecoming queen. Shane attends all her team's home games. "We're always excited cause we get to meet up with our friends," said Shane. But, he admited sometimes he gets bored.
