Those who follow such things as genealogy of potential presidents already know that Romney’s father was born in an American colony in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, making him half Mexican. According to Wikipedia, however, Mitt Romney was born in Detroit, Michigan. But not everyone agrees.

Apparently a group of birthers want to make sure of that.

On the heels of the flurry of concern over President Obama’s place of birth, they are calling for the California secretary of state to verify the eligibility of all presidential candidates before putting them on the November ballot.

That means Mitt Romney, too. Apparently, there is some concern over the amount of time his parents spent in Mexico, casting what they feel are legitimate questions about his place of birth.

The lawsuit was filed in Sacramento, filed by the American Independent Party of California, according to the Associated Press.
