Move over martini. The Vaportini is here

Tired of actually drinking your cocktail? You’re in luck. The Vaportini is here.

It’s all about the container–a simple device that evaporates flavor-infused spirits. You then breathe in the aromas and alcohol though your mouth with a glass straw. It kind of freaks me out, reminding me of addicts freebasing on “Intervention.”

Apparently, the effects aren’t quite the same as those provided by the liquid version. The tastes are said to be the same, as is the aroma. But by nature, cocktails and even wine and beer are meant to quench the thirst as well.

I would also assume that there would be no calories to worry about, so it could be considered a diet food.

Of course, you have to go to Chicago to have one, since it’s the latest craze to hit the bar scene in that cosmopolitan city.

Here in Erie, we still sip or guzzle our drinks.
