The NFL Draft takes place in about three weeks, and General McLane graduate Blidi Wreh-Wilson is getting plenty of pre-draft buzz.

Wreh-Wilson, a star cornerback at UConn, has been featured on several websites this week.

One draft guru, Mel Kiper, projected that Wreh-Wilson might be picked by the Redskins with the 51st overall pick. The washingtontimes.com noted that Kiper said: “In this league, you’ve got to go be able to cover. Certainly, Blidi Wreh-Wilson can do that. He has, obviously, the height you want. He’s over 6-feet. You think about the length. You think about the ability he showed at Connecticut to match up in coverage and do a good job.

“His tackling is so-so at times – a little sloppy as a tackler. He’s got to shore that up. He’s worthy of being a second-round draft choice.”

Others have projected Wreh-Wilson as a late first-round pick.

Bleacher Report calls Wreh-Wilson a hidden gem — but in the middle rounds.

After the recent UConn pro day, Masslive.com and ESPNBoston.com suggested that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was on hand in large part to watch Wreh-Wilson.

Wreh-Wilson fared well at the NFL Combine in February. Check out some video of him in action at the UConn pro day.
