General McLane and University of Connecticut graduate Blidi Wreh-Wilson will wait for a call today on the second day of the NFL Draft.

Wreh-Wilson was not selected in the first round Thursday, but he was not generally considered a likely opening-round pick. Most draft analysts had rated him as a second-round or third-round pick.

If that’s the case, Wreh-Wilson would be picked tonight, when NFL teams make their second- and third-round picks beginning at 6:30 p.m. The draft is televised by ESPN and NFL Network.

The 6-foot 1-inch, 195-pound cornerback has the height that makes him attractive for NFL teams who are seeking a corner that can cover big receivers in the NFL.

NFL analyst Charley Casserly predicted that the second round will be heavy on cornerback picks. He said up to 10 CBs could be picked in the round. That could include Wreh-Wilson.

Among the region’s three pro teams, the Browns picked linebacker Barkevious Mingo, the Bills selected quarterback E.J. Manuel and the Steelers took linebacker Jarvis Jones.
