Cathedral Prep graduates Damion Terry and Delton Williams and McDowell grad James Conner didn’t play in the 75th Save-An-Eye Game Friday at Veterans Stadium, but they did show up to watch the game.

Terry and Williams are preparing for their freshman seasons at Michigan State, and Conner is getting ready for his freshman year at Pitt.

Had they played, all three would have suited up for the City. However, even without the three stars, the City emerged with a 17-13 victory.

Fewer major-college recruits are playing in all-star games that are scheduled for late July and August because their college coaches prefer that they be ready for the season.

Terry and Williams played in the Big 33 Classic on June 16 and helped Pennsylvania roll to a 58-27 win over Maryland. Conner and Williams played in the Chesapeake Bowl in late December.
