Girard graduate Raegan Moore continued her strong start to the 2013-14 basketball season Tuesday night when she scored 17 points in Duquesne’s 78-58 victory over Miami, Ohio.

Moore, a senior guard, has averaged about 20 points per game while helping the Dukes to a 5-2 start. Today’s Erie Times-News featured a story on Moore’s emergence this season.

Meanwhile, Miami is not off to as good a start under new coach Cleve Wright, who left Gannon during the offseason. After Tuesday’s loss, the RedHawks are 1-4 under Wright. The lone win was a 55-39 victory over Chicago State on Nov. 16.

Miami graduated several standouts, including former Mercyhurst Prep star Kirsten Olowinski, who is now playing overseas.
