Gannon’s Jones, Sneed set for football all-star games Saturday

Gannon seniors Jansen Jones and Tashawn Sneed will play in football all-star games Saturday at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Jones, a 5-foot 10-inch, 185-pound running back, will compete in the D2 vs. NAIA Challenge at 1 p.m. The game is a showcase for top players from NCAA Division II and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Sneed, a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back, will play in the FCS Senior Scout Bowl Game, which follows at 5 p.m. The game features top players from the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA), along with select players from smaller divisions.

Joens finished the season with Gannon records of 1,588 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. He ranks third on the school’s career rushing list with 2,823 yards.

Sneed was a three-year starter for the Golden Knights. In 31 career games, he made 78 tackles, broke up 18 passes and made six interceptions.

Gannon finished with a 6-5 overall record and placed third in the PSAC West with a 4-3 mark.
