Girard graduate Jordan Dudas has switched positions for the Penn State football team.

Dudas, who transferred from Bucknell to PSU before the 2013 season, had worked out with the Nittany Lions as a safety last season, during spring practice and early during the current training camp.

However, the game notes that Penn State released this week indicated that Dudas, a 6-foot, 216-pound junior, has moved to linebacker. He is listed as the No. 3 outside linebacker behind sophomores Brandon Bell and Von Walker.

Another Erie-area product, Cathedral Prep graduate Billy Fessler, is listed as the No. 5 quarterback among five QBs on the roster. Fessler is a freshman preferred walk-0n.

Dudas and Fessler will travel with the Nittany Lions to Dublin, Ireland, as Penn State prepares to play Central Florida in the season opener Saturday at 8:30 a.m. The team plans to leave tonight.
