From St. Patrick’s Day race director, Jim Lang:

The day before the event we’re nearly 200 participants over our previous race record – 731. Instead of the planned-for 5-10% growth, we’re at nearly 40% growth, and I expect 100+ day-of entries.  In short, we’re going to be busy.

Parking: The Rotary Lot will be shut-off by 8:30 am on race morning. Parking at the Cookhouse, Beach 6 and Beach 8 is strongly encourage.  Cookhouse is closest, followed by Beach 8 and then Beach 6.  Anyone planning to participate in just the 2 Mile walk or 5k race and leave immediately after should NOT park at the Rotary. You will not be able to get out.

Packet Pickup: Is in the Rotary, but instead of going through the kitchen you will use the back doors of the rotary by the fireplace.  One door will be for entry and the other for exit.  We will have 3 lines for pre-registered particpants and 2 lines for day-of.  There will be NO exchange of shirt sizes or other materials before the races begin. Any exchanges must happen post-race.

Awards - we will announce the 5k winners (overall & masters) at 10:00 am outside.  All other age group winners will be posted & awards may be picked up inside the rotary after the start of the 10k.  10k Awards will be handled in a similar manner – with overall winners announced at 11:00 am.

Winter Series Premium: If you pre-registered by the 8th (snail mail) or 11th (online), you are guaranteed your premium IF YOU FINISH THE RACE.  You may pick up your sweatshirt (NOT a windshirt) inside the rotary beginning at 10:15 am.  If you are not on the list, you don’t get it.  (Your confirmation email details your info). Exchanges may be made after 12:00 noon.

Chips – we’re using ChampionChip this year. It will be affixed to your shoe using ties provided.  These chips WILL be collected after the race. If your chip is not returned, we will charge you $35 for the lost chip. We have a chip start for the 5k and gun start for the 10k.

2-race runners – if you signed up for both races, you will receive a YELLOW TAG attached to your chip bag.  This MUST be affixed to the front of your shirt to be allowed to keep your chip for the second race.

Walkers – Walkers will have bibs to help us identify you. You are doing an out & back (twice) on the lake road by beach 8.  You will cross the mats at the finish only.

Times: 9:00 for the 5k.  9:10 (or a little earlier) for the 2M.  10:10 am for the 10k. PLEASE do not be late.

Please arrive early on race morning. We are well over our anticipated numbers and are dealing with the situation as best we can. We expect to make this one of the smoothest races of the year.
